Privacy Notice

This privacy notice is issued under the Federal Law on Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and its regulations, and explains what personal data this website processes, why, and how you can control it.

Who is responsible for your data

Stephen Thomas, an individual registered in Mexico as a persona física con actividad empresarial, trading as “Independent Dance CDMX”, with an address at Mérida 124, Col. Roma Norte, Alcaldía Cuauhtémoc, C.P. 06700, Ciudad de México, México, is the data controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website. For any question about this notice or about your data, write to [email protected].

What data we collect

This website has no contact form, no accounts and no payments, so we do not ask you for your data directly. What is collected is gathered automatically by the analytics and mapping services described below:

  • Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it.
  • Browser, operating system, language and device type.
  • Pages visited, time on each page, and the site that referred you.
  • Identifiers stored by cookies, used to recognise a returning browser.

Why we use it

Primary purposes, necessary to operate the site: serving the pages, keeping the site secure and available, and showing our class schedule and locations.

Secondary purposes, which are not necessary and which you may object to at any time: measuring audience and traffic so we can understand which pages are useful and improve them.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to make decisions about you individually.

Cookies and tracking technologies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visitors and measure traffic, and the map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when that page loads.

You can disable them at any time: block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use your browser's private mode, or install Google's official opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Blocking them does not affect your ability to read any part of this site.

Transfers to third parties

Analytics data is processed by Google LLC in the United States. When you click a booking or purchase button you are taken to bailaya.com, operated by BailaYa, where any data you provide is governed by their own privacy notice. We make no other transfers, and none of these require your consent under Article 22 of the Regulations, as they are necessary to provide the service.

Your ARCO rights

You may exercise the following rights at any time by writing to [email protected], stating your name, a means of contacting you, and what you are asking for. We will reply within the period set by law.

  • Access — to know what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — to correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Cancellation — to have your data removed from our records.
  • Objection — to object to your data being used for a particular purpose.

Withdrawing consent

You may withdraw your consent to the processing of your data at any time by writing to [email protected], or, for analytics specifically, by disabling cookies as described above. Withdrawal takes effect from the moment we receive it and does not affect processing already carried out.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in the law or in how the site works. Any new version is published on this page with a new date, so the current text is always the one you are reading here.
